One of the most important and relevant aspects of any family is the opportunity to have coveted children. However, it is not a secret that in the last few years the frequency of infertile marriages has been increasing all over the world. And Ukrainian families, unfortunately, are no exception.
One of the problems often encountered by reproductive doctors is the patient’s later appeal for help. This is due to various reasons: someone long hopes that “everything will happen in its own way,” someone is rushing about in search of optimal treatment, having passed many doctors and having tried different methods of conservative solution of the problem, someone simply does not dare to start this difficult path, considering the problem insoluble. All this leads to the fact that women and families turn to the specialists dealing with this problem after a certain number of years, having gone through a long, but, unfortunately, ineffectual way, having spent a lot of time, effort and money. At the same time, the position on which reproductologists stand is unambiguous: the earlier efforts have been made to solve the problem, the greater the probability of a successful outcome.
When all the same it is necessary to address to the doctor-reproductologist?
According to the definition of the World Health Organization, a marriage in which a woman does not have a pregnancy within one year, provided she has a regular sexual life without using any means of protection, and, of course, provided that the spouses are of childbearing age, is considered sterile. However, for women over 35, this period is reduced to six months. This statement is based on the physiological mechanisms of the onset of pregnancy in healthy spouses.
The causes that lead to an increase in the number of infertile marriages are manifold. Some of them may be obvious, others can be learned only by conducting certain examinations and analyzes. In addition, it should be remembered that not every causative factor can have any manifestations, indicating a problem.
One of the features of infertility in young families is that they, as a rule, lack subjective and objective signs of any violations. But it’s not always the regular menstrual cycle in a woman is the guarantee of the presence of ovulation. And, contrary to the existing myth, it is very rare that the decrease in the fertilizing capacity of sperm is accompanied by a violation of sexual function in men.
According to modern ideas, the reproductive system of the male body produces sperm production in the testicles, the accessory glands provide the environment – a seminal fluid in which spermatozoa can be delivered without damage to the genital tract of a woman.
Before the reproductive function of the female body, nature posed more difficult tasks: in addition to producing the egg, this system provides the conditions for the advancement of spermatozoa to the egg. At the same time, a thorough selection of healthy, viable and most fertile (prolific) spermatozoa occurs in all parts of the genital tract. In addition, in the genital tract, women should be provided conditions for fertilization, transportation of a fertilized egg from the uterine tube to the uterus and its implantation in the uterus, development of the fetus and childbirth. Therefore, it is not surprising that in any area of the reproductive system of the male and female body, certain pathological processes may arise that violate the complex biological mechanism of their work and lead to infertility.
As you could see, the process of fertilization is multifaceted and depends on many factors, both on the part of women and men. Therefore, do not hesitate for a long time if the desired pregnancy does not occur. Address to the doctors: the achievements of modern medicine, the experience of reproductive specialists and your desire and perseverance will necessarily lead to the expected result.
